Who We Are
ArchPlug is operated by ArchPlug DOO, a company registered in the Republic of Serbia (company reg. no. / MB 22315285, tax ID / PIB 115780969), Belgrade–Zvezdara, Serbia. ArchPlug DOO is the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact: support@archplug.com.
This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights under the GDPR and the Serbian Personal Data Protection Act (ZZPL), which mirrors the GDPR.
Data We Collect and Why
- Email address (trial & purchase) — collected when you request a free trial or buy a license. Used to deliver your download link, issue and verify your license, and provide support. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- License verification — when a plugin checks your license, it contacts our server with your license email and an anonymous machine identifier (a one-way hash; it cannot be converted back into your computer name or username). Legal basis: performance of a contract. Retained for as long as your license is active.
- Software updates — so that fixes reach you without a manual
re-install, ArchPlug installs a small background helper (a Windows scheduled task named
ArchPlug Updater). It runs under your user account, also while Revit is closed, and
keeps a connection to our server so that an update can be delivered as soon as it is released.
It sends only: your licence email, the same anonymous machine identifier used for licence
checks, and the list of installed ArchPlug plugins with their version numbers. It never
sends anything from your Revit models — no project files, no drawings, no content.
Updates are downloaded only if they are digitally signed by ArchPlug DOO and match the checksum
published by our server; anything else is discarded.
You can switch this off at any time: open ArchPlug Settings, clear the email field and click Save. The helper then stops immediately, because it reads your account from that same setting and does nothing without it. Legal basis: performance of a contract. - Error reports (optional, only with your consent) — if a plugin encounters an error, it asks whether you want to send an anonymous error report. A report contains: plugin name and version, Revit version, Windows version, an anonymous machine hash, and the technical error details. It contains no name, no email address, and no project data, and Windows usernames are removed from any file paths before sending. Nothing is sent unless you choose “Send” or “Always send”, and you can change your choice at any time in ArchPlug Settings. Error reports are automatically deleted after 12 months.
- Payments — purchases are processed by our payment providers (PayPal, and Paddle as merchant of record). We never see or store your card details. See PayPal’s and Paddle’s privacy policies for how they handle payment data.
We do not collect anything else. We do not use your email for marketing without your separate consent, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
AI Features (ArchPlug Agent)
Some of our products — in particular ArchPlug Agent — are powered by a third-party large language model, Anthropic’s Claude. When you use such a feature, you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system rather than a human being; this is also stated in the product interface.
- What is sent — the instruction you type, and the context from your open Revit model that is needed to carry it out (for example element names, types, parameters and dimensions relevant to your request). This is transmitted to Anthropic in order to generate a response. Legal basis: performance of a contract (you asked the feature to run).
- What is not sent — we do not upload your Revit project file (
.rvt) itself, and we do not send your name, email address or license data to the AI provider. - When it is sent — only when you explicitly run an AI-assisted action. No AI feature ever runs on its own: no model content leaves your computer unless you start such an action. (Licence checks and software updates are separate and are described above — they never include anything from your Revit models.)
- Who processes it — Anthropic, PBC (United States) acts as our processor for these requests. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
- International transfer — because Anthropic is US-based, using an AI feature transfers the above content to the United States. Transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
- We do not store your prompts. ArchPlug does not keep a copy of the instructions you give the Agent or of the model context sent with them. A local counter of how many tokens you have used is stored only on your own computer, so you can track your usage.
- Your choice — AI features are optional. If you do not use them, no data is sent to any AI provider.
AI output can be inaccurate and must be reviewed before you rely on it — see the AI-Assisted Features section of our Terms of Service.
Website AI Assistant (“Ask AI”)
The chat window in the bottom-right corner of this website is an artificial intelligence assistant, not a human being, and this is stated in the chat window itself. It answers pre-sales questions about our plugins, pricing and licensing. Its answers can be inaccurate and should be verified before you rely on them; for anything binding, the prices and terms published on this site and in our Terms of Service prevail.
- What is sent — the message you type and the earlier messages of that same chat, together with the page you are reading. This is transmitted to Anthropic, PBC (United States), acting as our processor, in order to generate the reply. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy. Transfers to the United States are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
- What we store — unlike the in-product Agent described above, we do keep a log of the questions asked here and the answers given, so we can see what our documentation fails to explain. Alongside each entry we store the page, the time, and a one-way hash of your IP address used purely for rate limiting; the raw IP address is not stored. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the product and preventing abuse. Retained for up to 12 months.
- Please do not type personal or confidential information into the chat — it is not the right channel for it. Use support@archplug.com instead.
- If you leave your e-mail — when the assistant cannot answer, it offers to pass the question to a person. If you choose to give your e-mail address, we store it together with that chat and use it solely to reply to you. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Your choice — the assistant only runs when you open it and type something. If you do not use it, nothing is sent.
